Payment integration

Visa Payment Integration

Accept Visa card payments on Iraqi ecommerce and apps — acquirer setup, PCI-safe checkout, and go-live support by Mesopo alongside local IQD gateways.

Visa is the brand many cross-border and premium shoppers expect — but Iraqi stores usually need local IQD wallets too. Mesopo wires Visa through your acquiring bank or international processor using a hosted payment page so card data never touches your servers, then pairs it with FIB, FastPay, Zain Cash, or Qi for domestic buyers. We handle sandbox certification, 3-D Secure flows, webhook confirmation, and reconciliation exports your finance team can use.

What you get

  • Visa via your acquirer or international processor
  • Hosted checkout (PCI-safe — no card data on your servers)
  • 3-D Secure / OTP challenge support
  • Multi-gateway cart with Iraqi IQD rails
  • Arabic and English payment UX
  • Settlement and chargeback logging

How we integrate

  1. 1

Confirm Visa merchant eligibility with your acquiring bank or processor and gather KYC documents.

  2. 2

Obtain sandbox credentials and map payment session, redirect, and callback endpoints.

  3. 3

Mesopo implements hosted checkout, signature verification, and order-status webhooks.

  4. 4

Run certification scenarios: success, decline, 3DS failure, timeout, and duplicate callbacks.

  5. 5

Go live, verify settlement reports, and keep FIB/FastPay/Qi available for local IQD checkout.

Platforms we support

We integrate Visa-capable checkout with Laravel, Node.js, Next.js, WooCommerce, Shopify (where the acquirer plugin allows), and Odoo ecommerce. Mobile apps open a secure hosted session — secrets stay server-side. International Visa volume often sits beside Stripe or PayPal; domestic IQD volume stays on Iraqi gateways.

Settlement & payouts

Visa settlement currency and cycle follow your acquirer agreement (often USD or IQD T+1/T+2). Chargebacks and representation windows are documented in your ops runbook. Mesopo aligns gateway transaction IDs with your order database for daily reconciliation.

Common questions

  • Can Iraqi shoppers pay with Visa on our store?

Yes when your acquirer enables Visa for your merchant category. Many local buyers still prefer FIB or FastPay — we recommend offering both.

  • Do you store Visa card numbers?

No. We use hosted payment pages or tokenizer flows so PAN data never lands on Mesopo or your application servers.

  • Should we use Visa alone without Iraqi gateways?

Usually not for Iraq-first retail. Visa helps diaspora and international cards; local wallets convert better for IQD shoppers.
