Payment integration

FIB Payment Integration

Accept FIB (First Iraqi Bank) payments on your website, mobile app, or Odoo store — merchant onboarding, API integration, and go-live support by Mesopo.

First Iraqi Bank (FIB) is one of the most trusted payment rails for IQD transactions in Iraq. We help merchants connect FIB to custom checkout flows, mobile apps, and ecommerce platforms — handling merchant registration, API credentials, webhook configuration, and production testing so your customers can pay with confidence.

What you get

  • FIB merchant account setup and compliance documentation
  • Secure API integration with redirect or embedded checkout
  • Webhook handlers for instant payment confirmation
  • Sandbox testing before production go-live
  • Arabic and English checkout UX
  • Post-launch monitoring and reconciliation support

How we integrate

  1. 1

Review your business type and confirm FIB merchant eligibility with required documents (trade license, bank account, authorized signatory ID).

  2. 2

Register or activate your FIB merchant account and obtain sandbox API credentials.

  3. 3

Mesopo wires the FIB payment API into your website, app, or Odoo module — including order creation, redirect/callback URLs, and signature verification.

  4. 4

Run end-to-end sandbox transactions: successful payment, declined card, timeout, and duplicate callback scenarios.

  5. 5

Switch to production credentials, verify live IQD settlement to your FIB account, and monitor the first week of transactions.

Platforms we support

We integrate FIB with custom Laravel, Node.js, and Next.js backends as well as Shopify and WooCommerce stores. For Odoo ecommerce, we connect FIB as a payment acquirer so invoices and orders reconcile automatically. Mobile apps use the same server-side API — never exposing secret keys in the client.

Settlement & payouts

FIB settlements are typically in IQD and credited to your linked FIB merchant account on a T+1 business-day cycle, subject to bank holidays and transaction review. Mesopo configures transaction logging so you can match gateway payouts with your accounting. Withdrawals to external accounts follow FIB's standard merchant policies.

Common questions

  • How long does FIB merchant onboarding take?

Most Iraqi businesses complete FIB merchant registration in 1–3 weeks depending on document readiness and business category. Mesopo prepares your technical integration in parallel so you can go live as soon as credentials are issued.

  • Can FIB accept payments from outside Iraq?

FIB is primarily an Iraqi IQD gateway. International card acceptance depends on your merchant agreement. We can pair FIB with Stripe or PayPal if you need cross-border checkout on the same store.

  • Do you support FIB on mobile apps?

Yes. We implement server-initiated payment sessions with secure redirect or in-app WebView flows. API secrets stay on your backend — the mobile app only receives a payment URL or token.
